unsettled at times
Friday, Some places starting dry but showers developing widely, particularly in southern counties where some of them will be heavy. Northern areas staying drier with some sunshine. Brisk northerly winds. Maximum temperature 18 'C. Often dry and fine with some sunshine at the weekend, but a chance of a few showers on Saturday, mainly eastern areas. Monday cloudier with rain possible later. Unsettled weather conditions will affect many parts of the UK throughout the period, with the heaviest and most persistent rain the east at first and, most probably, to the north, west and southwest later. There will be some drier and brighter weather at times too, the best of this is likely to be in the west and northwest initially, then more likely across central, eastern and southern parts later.
